I Got You, Babe
9 February- 2 March 2016
Pro Arts Gallery, 150 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, Oakland, CA, 94612
I Got You, Babe explores the concept of focus, both in the arena of personal introspection and that of unwanted attention. Featuring two emerging Bay Area artists, Kate Kuaimoku and Oskar Lawrence Brent Malone, the exhibition debuts their newest works, touching on themes as divergent as the discreet process of art making and the recent awareness of police brutality. Provocative, yet meditative, these artists’ diverse practices complement each other as they challenge the hierarchy of the art world and explore conflict and resolution within the space.
